Would you like to be able to exchange more postcards at the same time? If so, then we might have some good news for you!
If we could just choose, we would love to allow everyone to send as many as they wish. However, limits are necessary in Postcrossing to keep the system balanced for everyone and also to keep the project safe. But we know that the current limits are particularly hard on new members who want to get started quickly and must wait for their limits to grow slowly. So, we have been working on a way to allow new Postcrossers to exchange more postcards, while still having the required limits – by adjusting them slightly.
Today we are doing an update on the formula for limits in Postcrossing. From now onwards, the limit for new accounts will start to increase after the first 5 postcards sent (and registered). Afterwards, the number of postcards you can send will increase by 1 for each 10 postcards sent (it was for each 20, so it grows twice as fast!). After the first 35 postcards sent, it increases by 1 on each multiple of 50 postcards sent.
We know this might sound a little confusing, so we made a little graph to explain the difference between before and after. Here it is:

As you see, the limits grow faster initially, allowing the account to reach a more comfortable level sooner.
How does this affect you? If you have sent under 100 postcards so far, you will be seeing an increase on your limit between 1 and 3 extra postcards. But not only new members get to send extra postcards: if you have already sent 100 postcards or more, then you’ll have one extra postcard as well. That’s right! Everyone gets (at least) one extra postcard with these changes – merry Christmas! :).
The limit continues to increase up until 100 traveling postcards – we believe that should be more than enough for everyone. And of course, it is the limit that we are changing – you are free to send any amount you want within your quota. You can learn more about the new limits here.
We are quite excited about these updates and we hope you’ll enjoy these changes. Happy Postcrossing everyone! :)

Muito obrigado, Paulo!
:)
I almost waiting to send next card and checking website every hour.
It's a great change. Just like a gift for me!!!
Thank you so much!!!!
超開心的啦!!!!
Merry Christmas everybody!!!
Maybe we should make some changes for the inactive members?
* For those celebrating Christmas with gifts.
I am really happy.
Thanks a lot.
My thanks go to all those hardworking managing guys!
Merry Christmas, everybody!
I think, after a user sent his first thousand, need to limit: only 1 additional postcard on each multiple of 100 postcards sent
thank you! nice idea
Happy Christmas and postcrossing!
Thank you!
thanks for this update, I was waiting for it!
Thank you very much! :D
A beautiful Christmas present.
"If you have sent between 100 and 149 postcards, you can send 11 postcards.
If you have sent between 150 and 199 postcards, you can send 12 postcards.
... and so on, in increments of 1 postcard for each 50 you send." But the number of cards traveling at one time stops growing after 100 cards? These two statements contradict each other. Can someone explain?
I urge Paulo and Team to cull each country's list by eliminating "deadwood." Thank you for managing an admirable project. Why not improve its efficacy by updating member lists ?
And many many thanks from a proud Postcrossing supporter for managing such a superduper, interesting, and engaged community!
And as Bob Cratchit says, "Come, let’s raise a toast more pleasing to the whole community. Children! A very merry Christmas to us all!"
I think it shouldn't be necessary to delete people who are inactive. I mean, as long as they request adresses (which they only can if their cards arrive) you can't really tell wether someone is being inactive or not.
thank you :)
I love how you keep improving the site - it's one of the very few things I know where "improvements" always really make things better. :-)
The biggest improvement, seems to me for evryone, if there was a stimulans in the system for members to register cards they receive, now there is none. Well maybe after not registering XXX cards?
My point is, I saw in your profile 4 expired cards, for each one you had to wait 60 days, before you can send another one. And okay, cards can get lost for any reason, but why does the system only put the fine, ( 60 days waiting) exculsively to the sender ( he or she can also be some one not to blame)
Happy Xmas to evry'one
Oh also, I feel like I send to many cards to Germany and a few other countries. I have nothing against them, I just would like to get other options. Like maybe when I click "send a card" then I can choose from 5 options of who/where to send to. Would be cool. Thanks again! Now I"ll have to look for more income to get stamps for all these cards ;)
Sure, for now I can send 13 postcards. My point wasn't the expired postcards. I want to say when my 250th postcard arrived I can send 14 postcards. So to the best of my recollection(last system) when my 250th postcard arrived I can send 50 postcards with my travelling postcards(total number is 50). Was it true? Or am I misapprehend?
50 is just the interval of sent postcards (200, 250, 300, 350, ...) at which your postcards limit increases (by one).
Thank you for the information. I understood now. So, I'm happy too about new system! I was careless I think. (:
