About Cathrine...

My name is Cathrine. I live by the forest, but I love everything related to the sea.

I volunteer in Red Cross; in the homework support, childrens Red Cross and Norwegian talking group for foreigners. It gives me joy and challenges. And it's a great way to meet people as well.

I love to read and I do especially like to read fantasy/fiction, historical fiction, and books about animals. If I find an interesting book, especially if it's on sale, I tend to buy it. But I can't read the books fast enough, so I've got a huge pile of unread books. I'm doing bookcrossing, and I love the reading challenges there!

I do also like to knit and crochet. One of my current knitting projects is to knit rectangular pieces of wool yarn for warming blankets that will be given to cancer patients.

I would like to travel in time, as long as I could get back to our own time. I think I'd only travel backwards in time though. It would be an interesting way to learn more about history. I'd like to go the viking age for instance and learn how the vikings navigated their ships. And I'm curious about how their society worked, how their daily life was etc. And it would be interesting to go back in time and visit the places I've lived. What did the look like 90 years ago or 1000 years ago?

When travelling somewhere, I like to visit museums (not art museums, though, I find them boring), aquariums etc. And just walk around, having a look at the place. I'm not the kind of person who would go on a holiday just to spend the entire days on the beach!

I do love to read long messages on the postcards I receive! Up for a challenge? How many words can you manage to write on one postcard? How tiny can you write?
Ideas for writing:
