Good news, everyone! We’re happy to announce that the Åland Islands will be launching a Postcrossing-themed stamp next year! I know your eyes are already drifting to the photo below, so go ahead and have a look:
There are so many cool things about this stamp! First of all, images don’t do justice to its shiny metallic surface, whose colors shift from pink to purple. But there’s also the fact that this is a not a normal stamp… it’s heart-shaped! You can carefully detach the inner perforations and transform the stamp into a heart — how cool is that?!
This special stamp was designed by Åland Post’s own Cecilia Mattsson, and will be issued in June 7th, 2019. To celebrate the occasion, the Finnish Postcrossing Friends Association is timing their annual trip to Åland to coincide with the stamp launch. Keep an eye on their website for more information soon, but you can already expect many interesting activities as per their usual adventures.
We know it’s still a long time for this stamp to be issued, but we’re super excited about it and looking forward to seeing it on many postcards next year! 💜

Hopefully we can get ahold of a few in the Åland Islands 🇦🇽 meetup (crosses fingers) or even get a card from an active member
I have all the others stamps so will look out for this very usual one to add to my collection. We have our famous Guernsey Jumper as a perforation stamp with the flag of countries like USA on the knitting needles and a ball of wool at the bottom.
I wish the US would recognize Postcrossing with a stamp :(
Love this so much! So many things about this stamp are fantastic! The shape(s), the design, the metallics! I'm a paper-crafter (among other thigns) so I love metallics (and embossing, and flocking, ...)! I'd love to get more postcrossing stamps. Especially would love for Australia Post to release one too.

USA needs a postcrossing stamp + postcards!!
If our South African Post Office just had some plain, ordinary postage stamps I'd be a happy woman. Never mind a fancy metallic commemorative. My cards are currently being mailed with a printed sticker showing the postage has been paid, in lieu of a stamp. Nothing I can do about it.

Again, another wonderful Blog post...I'm not usually a "stamp collector" but I admire wonderful stamps, especially those that Postcrossers send...this one is a beauty.
BTW, the USA does have some wonderful stamps, albeit nothing specifically for Postcrossing. The one with popsicles is actually a "scratch & sniff".

Its not impossible to receive a card from Åland Islands. There are also lot of Finnish and Swedish postcrossers using AX in Travel Mode. 😊

Such a beautiful stamp from the Aland Islands. Come on, USA Postcrossing people - - - write a letter to the Citizen's Stamp Advisory Committee in Washington, DC and lets get a USA Postcrossing stamp. The "usual" round ones are so uninspiring.
Look up the address for the CSAC on line and let's put our voices to work for a pretty, colorful $1.15 Postcrossing stamp. Lots of other less worthy causes have had stamps, why not one to inspire the use of the mail for people-to-people communication!

This is soooooo awesome! I hope I can collect one! You guys should really design a Postcrossing stamp for South Africa! Stamps are so hard to come by here these days. It's like they're being discontinued which is very sad! Postcrossing stamps might fix that a little! :D
