About Betsy...

Howdy from South Texas, USA -
I started collecting postcards over 50 years ago having lived in several states (Minnesota, Arizona, California, and Colorado), traveling (mostly in the Southwest U.S) and from guests who stayed at the hotel in Arizona where my father was manager.

In school, I became friends with foreign exchange students, and later, I spent over a year travelling, living and working in Europe while collecting more postcards. After I married, and moved to Texas, our family hosted a student from South America, with whom we've stayed in touch over 25 years.

When living in Houston, I belonged to a Postcard Club. We're now 3 hours south of Houston and I continue to enjoy my older postcard albums and fantastic cards received through Postcrossing (some are featured in my avatar) in now over eight years and 2.8 million miles!

I am the young-at-heart mom to my wonderful adult Autistic son; I work parttime and volunteer when I can. We travel occasionally...mostly in Texas...but we're hoping for another long-distance adventure soon. We also enjoy bowling, going to basketball or baseball games, movies, theatres and to our local zoo.

The most fun collecting postcards is seeing different places (as well as becoming reacquainted with those places I've visited) and "meeting" different people . So all cards are welcome -- especially those with your special messages. I will continue to promptly register cards as they arrive, and hope you will do the same. Looking forward to hearing from you...continue to enjoy Postcrossing!
