Tranchile(or Denise) is a member in Guernsey . She has been a member for over 3 years (1,258 days).
I am the mother of identical twin daughters who are both married and are teachers on the Island. I have three little grandchildren and another due early next year. I am 63 years old and retired.
I love reading, classical music, art,old buildings, ornate architecture, waterfalls, bridges, lighthouses, space travel and I am a serious fan of anything to do with Harry Potter. I collect mint stamps, especially commemorative ones. I have all the mint Postcrossing stamps issued so far apart from Suomi, Finland but looking forward to hopefully getting the new ones due out from November 2017 onwards from any other countries who are going to issue them or replace existing ones. Thank you to everyone who has kindly helped me with my collection. To amuse my grandchildren we have been collecting Lego postmen/woman and postboxes from around the world. This links up with my cards. Not easy to find living on a small Island but granny can achieve miracles it seems.....if only! 👵🏻
Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands with Jersey the biggest but all the other smaller Islands come under our Bailiwick. We are just a Crown Dependency of the UK and so have our own Government. We have our own flag. We are not part of the EU so have our own currency and Jersey has theirs.
We do have three Postcrossing stamps and matching cards.
Could you please if possible put the date you sent the card as I like to know how long it takes to reach me.
"I would appreciate a few words about yourself or the wonderful country you live in and not just the postcrossing reference and my contact details as the cards I love, but knowing about the people and countries from around the world I love more" I cannot travel the world as I am disabled.
P.S No untasteful cards-Well I am 63!
Also NO folded notelets as I joined to get Postcards.
A la Perchoine-Goodbye or Until we meet again, in Guernsey Patois.
