Today we’re announcing a different kind of contest! Some of you might have noticed we’re fast approaching the 10 million received postcards milestone. We’re quite excited about it, and to celebrate this achievement, we’re having a guessing game!
It goes like this: every member has a chance to bet on the day and time on which the postcard number 10 million will be registered. The user with the closest guess gets the prize: a coupon for 120 postcards, an awesome offer from MOO!
All you have to do is go to the 10 million postcard page, and place your bet!
Each time slot can only be chosen by one person, so the first user to pick that slot gets to keep it. You can change it at a later stage, if you want, but only from the available time slots left. We will close the bets when there are 1,500 postcards left to postcard 10,000,000. There are some more rules, which you can see on the contest page.

Wow, I've trying to be close.
Just a small tip that might help: if you're basing your predictions on the number of postcards registered per hour, note that this number varies wildly throughout the day. For instance, it is much higher when big countries on Postcrossing (like Finland or the US) come home from work and check their mailboxes... :)

My server was reconfigured to analyse when the 10 million'th card could be received thanks to the countdown at the page... - Now I Placed my bet... calculated the 24th of january... but I can't tell the time :D

Wow !!! Love to see this Number and about Guessing Game, well it seems as interesting as a Sherlock Holmes story ! But just imagine how lucky would be those 2 people, who will send and recieve the 10 millionth card !!!

I think you need to document this event on tape and photos beginning NOW and continuing to the magical ten millionth postcard. Possibly there exists commercial value to the Postcrossing site in showcasing its phenomenal growth through a film which could be showcased internationally.
