Tastycards.co - mouthwatering postcards!

So August is here, and as promised, we have another contest for you! This one is sponsored by Tastycards.co, who kindly offered to send us 5 packs of their delicious postcards to give away.

How could we say no to this irresistible fusion of food, photography and postcards?

more postcards

Tasty Cards feature mouthwatering pictures of food, from appetisers to desserts, taken by their talented photographers. The recipe used to make each postcard is on the back, and you can pick the language (English, Swedish and German available). Don't worry, the cards are big (125 x 207 mm), so there's still plenty of space to write your message!

Afraid the postman will eat your brownies? Can't send some soup across the world for a sick friend? Send it with one of these postcards! :)

tastycards

To take part on this contest, visit Tastycards.co's website and leave a comment below telling us which recipe you think they should add to their collection! Comments will be accepted until August 14th 11:59pm (GMT), and on the next day we'll pick five winners at random. Good luck!

Some sushi, takoyaki and other famous recipes from Japan, Kung Pao chicken, Sichuan hotpot, dim sum, duck from China and all sort of others. I think it would also do great for their marketing strategy, trying to please people from all over the world through their postcards.

Posted by Marystoteles on 8 Aug, 2011

HeLL5fury, Turkey
I feel like most of their cards (except for the main courses) need more COLOR! Thus I would include something like (1) lokum (Turkish delight) which comes in a variety of flavors/colors, (2) limeades and lemonades, which can be more colorful depending on the fruits that are added (strawberries, cherries, raspberries). Or even (3) a tri-sauce recipe, three different sauces to use on pasta. Lots of color, something for everyone! Yum!

Now whisk the egg yolks with sugar and vanilla sugar. Store for the rest of the milk and continue Beat yolks, adding a little boiling milk.

- the obbligatory pupusas
- sopa de gallina india
Posted by Blackthornhiei on 8 Aug, 2011

HinArien, Ukraine
Yeah, only two soups is a pity. And some well-known national foods may be nice.
For example, Okroshka - ukrainian/russian cold soup, lots of vegetables, very good in summer. Or Green borsh - a modify of usual borsh, added season greens, also very good, tasty and full of vitamins.
Holodets (minced jellyed meat) is great too. It might be interesting for people from other countries.
Pirojki(patties) - fried or baked, with different stuffing from meat and potatoes to berries
An icecream recepie would also be nice
Kompot - stewed fruit

The cards look very tasty:)

Posted by jemma9580 on 8 Aug, 2011

scrutiny, Hong Kong
Wow. I'm drooling! Hands down, they need to add to the dessert section, and the perfect thing would be a chocolate molten cake. The liquid texture oozing out from the spongey cake would make a fantastic juxtaposition of textures on the image.

And then if they could add the "scratch and sniff" patch to the chocolate image... well, I would die and go to heaven! :P

Thanks for the opportunity to win yummy cards! :)

Well, from the ones I´ve seen on the webpage I´d vote for bread - yesterday I made my very first home-made loaf of bread and it was great.
As a hint what else to offer - I´d definitely love a card with some ice-cream. My very favourite is double chocolate :-) or at least stracciatella, but any sort would do :-) and the fruity ones are quite easy to make at home...

Dear Tasty,

Here are my top four Mexican meals (super simple to make) for a last meal on Earth:

1) Shrimp Cocktail (Mexican style)with with saltine crackers.
2) Chorizo Tacos with lime juice, onion and cilantro & a tomatillo salsa
3) Beef Sopes with carrots, potatoes, diced tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and spicy salsa and of course...avocados.
4) Fish (whole) rubbed with salt and lemon spices, filled with veggies and slapped on the grill. Nothing else is needed for a delicious meal.

And the simplest appetizer: Guacamole

To Drink: Agua de Horchata (Mexican Rice Water)

For those who like an adventure, Tortilla soup is just the right thing topped with a bit of guacamole or alvacado slices served with nacho chips. It can be made with beef or chicken, or just with the vegetables, spices, and tomatoes. You can make it very spicy or mild depending upon your taste. jolly_ro, Russia
They should have classic Swedish Princess cake (the green one with a pink flower on top) of course! I'm surprised they don't already have it.

Also, I second those who said they need Tom Yum King, Ukranian Borsh (basically, more soups!), Swedish meatballs (again, surprised they don't already have it, they're Swedish business, after all!) and strawberry cake with whipped cream. The one that Sweds eat at Midsommar fest. A friend of mine really wants to visit Sweden around Midsommar, but although she's been in Sweden several times, it was never at Midsommar! I wish I could send her a card with Midsommar strawberry cake:)

My goodness, these cards are YUMMY! My mouth is watering, just looking at them. I truly believe that the Dutch 'appelflappen' would be a very good addition to the 'snack line'. Very easy to make, very tasty! All you need is puffy pastry, apple (preferably the "Goudrenet", cinnamon and sugar. Slice the apple into small pieces, add the cinamon and sugar. Put the mix onto the pastry, fold it into a triangle and put this in the oven... You can eat them hot & cold, whatever you prefer. The smell is to die for.. Enjoy! :)

My favorite cake and one you do not see in these parts is a German Chocolate Cake...
Contrary to popular belief, German chocolate cake did not originate in Germany. Its roots can be traced back to 1852 when American Sam German developed a brand of dark baking chocolate for the American Baker's Chocolate Company. The product, Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate, was named in honor of him.
