Tastycards.co - mouthwatering postcards!
So August is here, and as promised, we have another contest for you! This one is sponsored by Tastycards.co, who kindly offered to send us 5 packs of their delicious postcards to give away.
How could we say no to this irresistible fusion of food, photography and postcards?
Tasty Cards feature mouthwatering pictures of food, from appetisers to desserts, taken by their talented photographers. The recipe used to make each postcard is on the back, and you can pick the language (English, Swedish and German available). Don't worry, the cards are big (125 x 207 mm), so there's still plenty of space to write your message!
Afraid the postman will eat your brownies? Can't send some soup across the world for a sick friend? Send it with one of these postcards! :)
To take part on this contest, visit Tastycards.co's website and leave a comment below telling us which recipe you think they should add to their collection! Comments will be accepted until August 14th 11:59pm (GMT), and on the next day we'll pick five winners at random. Good luck!

Well, I would at once order a card with Jota, the slovenian soup. :-)
They could add ;
Laktès
Hot bread with butter
Sushi
Joumou Soup
Bolw of different hard candies
Now, I'm hungry... :|
I would add Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest Cake)
Guess it's time to go do some grocery shopping,
i'm totally hungry now..
they should add Indonesian fried rice and Pad Thai and Taco salad!!!
I guess they need more bread postcards. With the french typical baguette maybe ?
Or Icelandic Devil's cake (Djöflaterta)?
There are so many nice recipe they could add :)
There was a suggestion on one Tastycard page to use their recipe cards as a party invitation and circle one ingredient the guest should bring. Then the dish would be made by all at the party. Great idea!
It is so jummy... And looks very good on picture :)
A cup of cocao!
Carrot cupcakes! ^^
Thinking of something delicious and something that looks pretty on a postcard at the same time.
Cakepops came to my mind. I will add the link to a page which show nice pictures of those. ^^ There are just so many options to decorate them. :DD

Just delicious. ^^
Btw great postcards :-)
Boil half a liter of milk in a flat, wide saucepan. Separate white part from egg yolks, whisk with a pinch of salt to stiff peaks. At the boiling milk (on low heat) lecture whites with a spoon. Now whisk the egg yolks with sugar and vanilla sugar. Store for the rest of the milk and continue Beat yolks, adding a little boiling milk.
- creme brulee
- falafels
- salvadorean quesadilla (completely different from the mexican one. Our quesadilla is a sweet pastry)
- the obbligatory pupusas
- sopa de gallina india
For example, Okroshka - ukrainian/russian cold soup, lots of vegetables, very good in summer. Or Green borsh - a modify of usual borsh, added season greens, also very good, tasty and full of vitamins.
Holodets (minced jellyed meat) is great too. It might be interesting for people from other countries.
Pirojki(patties) - fried or baked, with different stuffing from meat and potatoes to berries
An icecream recepie would also be nice
Kompot - stewed fruit
The cards look very tasty:)
Jambalaya
Gumbo!
From a Southern Gal
I would add a recipe for pastéis de nata probably. Didn't see that one. Sushi would also be great, plus that would look good on a postcard as well!
Pizza will be fine, I think!!
the cards look fantastic.
And then if they could add the "scratch and sniff" patch to the chocolate image... well, I would die and go to heaven! :P
Thanks for the opportunity to win yummy cards! :)
Great cards!
Great cards in the website, so colorful!!! :o)
I think they could add "Tiramisu", it's my favourite dessert (YUMMY!)
dessert from Thailand. so delicious!!!
I think the desserts are missing a recipe for Panna Cotta!
crossing fingers I win since iv never won anything... good luck to everyone as I know everyone will be wanting these cards just as badly as I do :)
As a hint what else to offer - I´d definitely love a card with some ice-cream. My very favourite is double chocolate :-) or at least stracciatella, but any sort would do :-) and the fruity ones are quite easy to make at home...
I think Tastycards should make a child-friendly baking/cooking section with recipes children can help make. :)
Here are my top four Mexican meals (super simple to make) for a last meal on Earth:
1) Shrimp Cocktail (Mexican style)with with saltine crackers.
2) Chorizo Tacos with lime juice, onion and cilantro & a tomatillo salsa
3) Beef Sopes with carrots, potatoes, diced tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and spicy salsa and of course...avocados.
4) Fish (whole) rubbed with salt and lemon spices, filled with veggies and slapped on the grill. Nothing else is needed for a delicious meal.
And the simplest appetizer: Guacamole
To Drink: Agua de Horchata (Mexican Rice Water)
I definitely think they should add many more drinks! Margaritas, sangria... ;]
It's made with Butterfly (Farfalle) noodles, Tomatoes, white Mushrooms, Rocket salad, Mozzarella and Basil. So tasty!
And looks great on pictures, too. ;)
I've seen something similar to the Amaretto Truffles before - we call them "Buckeyes" and they're usually just peanut buttery here.
I'm not sure what I could add to their list though...I'm not much of a cook at all. :( Maybe some interesting shish-ka-bobs with fresh grilled veggies included?
shrimps in ananas
coxinhas (chicken croquetes)
brigadeiro (choco lovely sweets)
and it's very nice postcard
You should definitely include a recipe of the lemon pie! There isn't a better-looking, tastier and easier to make dessert! :)
Maybe add a peanutbutter sandwich postcard?
But they should add a recipe for banoffee pie - the world's best dessert!!
I would love to get a postcard of this.
So, sepcial / creative food would be great! :)
I make these for any type of pot-luck, they are vegetarian and everyone likes them!
http://www.bigfatsandwich.com/bauru-sandwich/
or Alfajores or even a couscous :)
Colombian empanadas would be an amazing addition as well. Also schnitzel because it is just amazing!!!!!
I would love them to have a recipe for Bellini cocktail..I had my first one in Venice and it brings back such happy memories that I would love to be able to share via a postcard :-)
Mmmmhhhhh!!!
And good ol' choc chip cookies :)
http://www.buttalapasta.it/articolo/cucina-lombarda-ossobuco-alla-milanese-con-risotto/29557/
I would add Thuringian Pancakes (at least it's how we call them, also known as Knieküchle)
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Kniekeulchen.jpg
just that you know what I mean. (the dough is similar to doughnut, but they look different)
I'm sure they would look great at a postcard.
Also, I second those who said they need Tom Yum King, Ukranian Borsh (basically, more soups!), Swedish meatballs (again, surprised they don't already have it, they're Swedish business, after all!) and strawberry cake with whipped cream. The one that Sweds eat at Midsommar fest. A friend of mine really wants to visit Sweden around Midsommar, but although she's been in Sweden several times, it was never at Midsommar! I wish I could send her a card with Midsommar strawberry cake:)
a Mojito or Vampire drink recipe
Strawberry Shortcake
or
Ravioli with a pretty green pesto and bright red marinara sauce :)
Birgitt
Although I'm a chocaholic, I would die to get my hands on a great banana/nuts bread recipe!
Edeltraud
Main: Wonton with Egg Noodles (Chinese); Poutine (Canadian); Pho (Vietnamese); Paella (Valencian Spanish)
Salad: Carmelized Walnut, goat cheese, and arugula salad (California, USA)
Those cards a really great!!! Would love to get some of them.
I would love a recipe of a cheesecake too! :D

Italy, I love you ;)
They'd look gorgeous in those cards :)
I would suggest either cheese souffle baked in tomatoes, or maybe pho?
I would really love to see cards with Sushi or Bento on it, sounds like real eye candy to me!
But then again the cinnamon rolls look devine :)
Contrary to popular belief, German chocolate cake did not originate in Germany. Its roots can be traced back to 1852 when American Sam German developed a brand of dark baking chocolate for the American Baker's Chocolate Company. The product, Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate, was named in honor of him.
Éclair :D
Bulgogi (korean food) ^^
Pineapple Cake/Nastar(Indonesian cake) XD
They're all the best!!!!
Great one!
cant wait to taste
:~)
photos of the herbs and spices would be pretty.
It will be awesome if they can add some Asian Fusion recipes on there. An example would be: http://www.shangrestaurant.com/shang-details/image-gallery/?album=all&gallery=2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasi_lemak
It can be eaten as breakfast, lunch or dinner. :D a versatile dish.
No matter where you are in the world, if you are from Great Britain, a reminder of a traditional family Sunday lunch. A reminder of home :)))
It would be great if they feature Spanish traditional food, such as paella, Spanish omelette...

And, of course, mojitos!!!
(I make this every year for Christmas Day pudding )
