About Nora...

Hello to all who read this.

Please write date & your user name on the postcard - thank you 😀.

Sorry, I do not respond to swap requests.

Postcrossing on Irish TV: I was in a programme called "Inside The GPO" on 22 March 2016 along with other Postcrossers. We helped a little to promote Postcrossing here.

I loved hosting the Little Mail Carriers. You can read all about it here: http://www.postcrossing.com/blog/2013/06/30/the-little-mail-carriers-in-galway-ireland

My hobbies include cross stitch, reading, travel & photography. I enjoy the sea & live close to it in Galway city. I adore wildlife documentaries especially any about marine life. I love dolphins, whales & shark in particular.

Christmas is my favourite time of the year. When it comes to Christmas I am like a child. I love all things about it. I've visited Finnish Lapland 4 times bringing some of my nieces & nephews to visit the real Santa & it was so exciting and special both for myself and for the children. I hope to go again in 2024.

I would love to get postcards that tell a little about your country, the people, your culture or the flora & fauna but any card you choose to send me including ad cards, cartoon cards, Postcrossing meeting cards & homemade is perfect. They will be treasured equally. However, please, NO snakes - I am terrified of them.

I worked for the Post Office in Galway for 41.5 years & retired on 02 July 2021. I love getting mail other than bills in my letterbox. Postcards depicting anything to do with the Postal Service are always welcome. Today (28 April 2010) I got my first Postcrossing Postcard. It's from Germany & the stamp on the card depicts a Postal Worker in the German Post Office, very thoughtful.

I would also enjoy any postcard relating to holidays such as Christmas/Easter & especially any postcards relating to holidays in your country. My birthday is in January so if you are sending me a postcard around then a birthday postcard is always welcome.

Thanks to everyone who sends me a postcard.

This is just a guideline. Feel free to ignore it & send any postcard you wish (but NO real snakes, please).

Expired cards? Ah yes, but such is life!
If your card is travelling for longer than you think it should & I haven't registered it let me know. I try to register all cards as soon as I get them unless I am on holiday.
