As you might have noticed, Postcrossing’s eight birthday is coming up soon… which means, it’s time for our annual birthday party… and a little contest! :)
This year, we thought we’d hand over the reins to YOU!
Your mission, if you wish to accept it, is to make something that celebrates Postcrossing. Bake a Postcrossing cake, knit a scarf in the project’s colours, skywrite the website’s name in the sky… surprise us! Big or small, anything goes – the limit is your imagination! :)
You have until Saturday 13th 11:59pm (GMT) to send us a photo of your masterpiece to 8birthday@postcrossing.com. We’ll publish the results in a week – and of course, there will be surprise gifts to the best ones!
As an example, have a look at the delicious cookies our friend Cecília baked some time ago:

Not only did you hand the reins to us, you threw down the gauntlet; a huge challenge to get our thinking caps on. Hmmm...what will we see posted here? If I can think of something fun....I hope my post will be up here. ('reign' is to govern, like a king/queen. I think you must mean 'reins', as in "to lead".

Am I only person who could not e-mail my photo? it says the address is incorrect...
I've introduced 8 people to postcrossing over the past few years. Some only participated briefly; others have kept it up as a hobby. Perhaps one way to celebrate a postcrossing anniversary is to commit to assisting one person to join as a new member in the coming year. I also like the idea of re-sending to the first 8 addresses I received.
9.9 Finlands post issue a stamp for postcrossing. I am waiting to see it and send to world.
I think that it would be great to send new postcards to the first eight people I had originally sent to, but I can't get their addresses again. It was a great idea BUT...
Oh and Blessings to you Paulo and your Postcrossing crew for giving the world a beautiful thing.
Just an idea, if every postcrosser donated just $8 to Postcrossing as a birthday present what a beautiful thing that would be. I think that it should start with me...let me see what I can do.
