Belgium might be known for chocolate, waffles and some famous comics (like Tintin, Lucky Luke or my personal favorite, Gaston Lagaffe!)… but from today onwards, it will also be known for some cute Postcrossing-themed stamps! They are out there in the world now, ready to make postcrossers happy both in Belgium and abroad!
We love the unique format of the stamp sheet, designed to look like a postcard itself! Featuring cheerful scenes of all the stages of Postcrossing, it really does a good job of showing what the hobby is all about. The text on the stamp sheet is written both in Dutch and French, the two most widely spoken languages in Belgium.
Naturally, also the cancellation mark is available in two languages!
Also, bpost is also issuing a special First Day Sheet, featuring the stamps in the front and some information about Postcrossing and this commemorative issue on the back.
A meetup was scheduled for today in Brussels to welcome in the new stamp, and we’re sure many postcrossers are heading to the philatelic boutique in Brussels (or more likely, to bpost’s online shop) to get themselves some. They can also be ordered at any post office in Belgium to then have them delivered to your address.
Wherever you are, we hope you’ll soon receive a postcard with one of these colorful stamps!

I remember a few years ago, 2017 or '18, German Post had a stamp of Postcrossing design as well. The staff at the post office counter glued those onto my letters when I still had penpals. Now that staff still cares to use stamps instead of labels without a design (these labels took the place of stamps now, mostly, in Germany if you don't specially ask for stamps). And I think it looks a bit more boring with the labels and therefore I now will still ask for stamps when I send my Postcrossing cards.

There is also a First day cancel of 14 June on the presale of the stamps in Kalken, in Flanders or the Dutch speaking part in Belgium, so only available in Dutch.

I just bought some today, pretty little stamps. Some lucky postcrossers will receive one from, me leaving today, as I took part in a meetup. For the world, we have to had an extra stamp to have the correct value... see which adresse I receive 😁

FYI, bpost is holding a philatelic event on July 2nd at the Malinne printing house. You can buy their recent stamps and postcards, have them postmarked, and send mail. I hope to be there
I live near the Belgium border and drove to the Post-Office in Raeren yesterday to buy it. But they didn't offer it. :-(

I just tried to buy them from the Belgium Post Office. I created a “Boost” account. When it got to the part about where to deliver them, the country Belgium was the only country that could be put in that box called country. I am in the USA and it does not look like I can buy them online.

I ordered some and I can't wait to use them.
In Belgium we have stamps for "Europe" and the "World".
And these have "Europe" on them so I contacted BPost to see if I could use the Postcrossing stamps for destinations outside Europe if I put 2 of them on a card and they confirmed that cards with 2 "Europe" stamps on them would also be delivered outside Europe. I hope that is true.

Tip for all Belgian postcrossers: you could add a low value stamp to reach a value high enough to also use this stamp for non-EU countries.
