About Premnath...
Call me Prem.
I am from Mangalore, India. I am married to Suchitra and we have two daughters, Sneha and Kavya.
My interests include stamp, coin and currency note collecting. In stamps I collect mint stamps, mostly directly from the postal administration of the country I am interested in. Earlier besides mint stamps I also buy Year Books and Year Sets of a few selected countries like New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Australia and Great Britain. Those I stopped after their costs increased and my currency depreciated. Earlier I have hosted several posts on some of the stamps in my collection, at https://psk-stampindex.livejournal.com/.
I have collected US Mint Proof sets from 1999 to 2022. Besides those I have a few other proof sets from the US, British and Canadian mints
I used to be very much interested in reading earlier. I used to read a lot of fiction, some of the authors being Jeffery Archer, Frederick Forsythe, Sydney Sheldon, and John Grisham. During my school and college days I have read a lot of Enid Blyton (Secret Seven, Famous Five et al), Arthur Hailey, and James Hadley Chase. No so now.
I have a decent collection of Indian currency notes, most of them in UNC condition. Several of them I got at my bank and friends at face value, others which are not circulating I got through eBay and Baazee (later eBay.co.in and now doesn't exist) auctions and once at a stamp exhibition here in Mangalore.
I collect scale model cars, trucks and planes. I like model trains and love watching model train layouts on Instagram and Youtube.
I have some interest in astronomy and gaze at the skies once in a while. I can tell only one or two of the constellations and some of the stars. I am deeply interested in space exploration, and manned space travel. And hence check everything that is available on those topics.
I have created and edited a few articles at the Wikipedia.
I came across Postcrossing after seeing a heart shaped stamp on it issued by Aland Post. Still didn't perk my interest and only some years later that I could under what it was and what was happening. So joined in September '22 and have sent and received a few cards so far.
I register the cards the minute I get it in hand, and send out a fresh card as soon as my sent card is registered. I now scan the image of the card I have sent and post it.
I am happy to get any card you send. But if you are interested in sending cards that interest me from your collection I can point to the stamp themes I currently collect below;
Aircraft, vehicles (bikes, cars, trucks, fire trucks), space, astronomy, zodiac, scenery, maps, ships, cartoons, comics, lighthouses, windmills, heritage sites.
