Show of hands: how many of you are fans of Postman Pat (and his black and white cat)?
We bet that for many postcrossers, this BBC series was a childhood staple and that song brings a lot of good memories!
But for those of you who don’t know it, Pat Clifton is a friendly country postman who delivers letters in the town of Greendale… unless he gets distracted by something going on the village, which he often does! He has a bright red van, and a black and white cat named Jess, in the original version.
The series is popular not only in the United Kingdom, but also around the world, so we might know him by one of his many names:

My sons love Pat and his cat Jess, we sometimes sing the series song (in spanish) when we go to the school.
Yeah, Pieter Post, we used to watch this when we we're only young children =D
Me me me! I loved Postman Pat as a child, and had a Jess the cat cuddly toy :-) Didn't know he was so well-travelled!
My first time hearing of this cute Postman Pat is from watching one of the episodes of Mr. Bean. I remembered, Mr. Bean put a baby into this miniature Postman Pat's red van and let it runs for a long time while he went to play in the amusement park. The song it played was this intro song! :D Really made me feel like watching it again! ^_^
I love Pieter Post! I think the English make many beautiful children's series.
We have Postman Pat cartoons also in Slovenia. Here Postman Pat is called 'Poštar Peter'.
Sure I remember this, "Postimies Pate" in Finland. I used to quite like the series when I was little :)
Never heard about him and his cat here in France... or maybe I'm too young (I'm nearly 40)...hahaha !;-) Or maybe I'm too old and I've forgotten everything about them ! :-(
Yes, we have it here as well - Czech, Pošťák Pat. My kids like it, and I like all that humor (especially Pat´s wife :-) ) But I guess the cat has a different name here, well, I have to replay the DVD again I guess :-) to find out

Yes, I was a fan of Postimies Pate as a child.:) Children of my friend are fans of him now.
I love Postman Pat! It brings back such great childhood memories. In South Africa we watched the BBC version, it was never translated into Afrikaans. I still remember visiting the English countryside as an adult for the first time and thinking 'wow, it looks just like in Postman Pat!'

If you like a bit of humor and dont mind rude things you should search for the rude versions of postman pat, they are hilarious.
But I think not everyone will appreciate them, so you be warned :-D
I never watched Pieter Post when I was younger but my son Thijs (almost 2) just loves it! When our mail arrives he says: "Pietie Post!!!!"
I love Postman Pat! As a child I used to love it for being so "English" :) ..and now one of our cats is named after his cat, Jess!
whauw..that are good memories ,looking with my kids to postman pet ...not one did speak english ,but that was no problem ,they understand everything and mum had to translate sometimes .we watched it on the bbc ,later on it became in the netherlands

I love Postman Pat.
I used to watch Postman Pat when I was a kid growing up in England. Now my son watches it in France. It's "Pierre le facteur" in french ;)
I also love Postman Pat so much and I sometimes use the DVD during my English teaching lessons. Really great!

there's going to be a movie about 'pieter post' somewhere december 2012. think it will be dutch, but not sure yet. all i can find is, there will be a movie
