Airmail has been on my mind lately, those irresistible blue and red stripes! So simple and yet so pretty, they always bring back memories of long hand written letters from friends far away…

I loved the air-mail envelopes and was sad when they were not sold any more. But a while ago the lady of my postcard store asked me if I would like to have some and showed me a pack of this lovely blue-red-striped envelopes and gave them to me - gratis. I was really happy.
Ooooh! I've already seen bags and purses of that style in some shops. I LOVE them!

Mailers in USA have started to use the blue-red border in an effort to get you to open junk mail. It's disgusting to find that a letter you thought came from around the world is an advertisement for life insurance.

I LOVE those envelopes but unfortunately they aren't sold here anymore. :( I still have a few I keep as a souvenir of "the good old times".
About the items with the theme, I can't resist them either and have bought a lot of items from Accessorize and also t-shirts (Zara, Pull&Bear).

This design is also very used on Aerogram or Air Letter and unfortunatly this is a beautiful thing that I hope will have a new life. :D
That reminds me of my teenage years when I used to have penpals all around the world. I wrote as small as possible to get a lot of information on one sheet. Sent them to Trinidad, Hong Kong, Finland, France, Burkina Faso aso. I am happy that I found Postcrossing, as I have no time for long letters anymore.
