To say something nice about 2020, it’s a year full of surprises... The first one, here in Warsaw, was that winter never came. Not only didn’t we get any snow, but we didn’t have a single frosty day all winter – a historic first! Then Brexit actually happened this time. And while I did expect the Coronavirus epidemic to reach Europe, I never thought it would hit us so hard. With all the forewarning we got. And our politicians being so smug about how the Chinese handled it “so badly”... However, the economic lockdown took me by surprise. Our leaders for once putting lives before profits?! If only for a few weeks... Another surprise was that our hopeless president won his re-election only by a very slim margin. To me it seems the very fact that we live in “uncertain times”, as they say, is certainly an improvement, given all the things that had seemed certain before...
