Postcrossing Spotlight: nordbaer from Germany
Norbert, 53, Düsseldorf, Germany. Better known as "Baer" in the Forum. He is more than a polar bear friend...
- How did you come across Postcrossing? What got you hooked?
-
My fiancè (which is also active on postcrossing) has been penpalling for more than 25 years. One of her penpals, the Turkish postcrosser nihan, sent her the link to this postcard paradise. I tried it first and was infected by the postcrossing virus in the same second... :-)))
- Do you have any other interesting hobbies?
-
Rubberstamping, playing table tennis. In former times fantasy roleplaying, boardgames, painting tin miniatures, watercolour painting, motorbiking.
- Show us your mailbox, your mailman/mailwoman, your postoffice or the place where you post or keep your postcards!
-
My mailman doesn't like me, I won't photograph him and show him here. Unfortunately, the friendly people at my postoffice didn't give me their permission to show their photos here, so I just show the space, mailbox where I sent my postcards from and my mailbox!
- Show & tell us about your favorite received postcard to date, and what makes it special.
-
My most special card - the very first card I received by Postcrossing...

Here is another photo of one of my favorite cards, sent by the user EvansCrew:

Thanks for your (cats) postcards!
It was so amusing reading this interview - he says his "mailman doesn't like [him]" - why?!
Also, his local post office is sooooo small! But I bet the staff do their job much better than the postal workers here! And I bet they have better attitudes too! =P
Last point to note: so patriotic! (German flag on mailbox.) You won't see anyone here in Singapore put our flag on our mailbox. No one likes this place that much. =P
and... silly me...I've been waiting for that postcard to load for ages!!!! I was reading this interview on facebook and tought it was a problem there so I came here to see it and only then I realised it was the postcard picture :) GREAT ONE!!
Cats are much more important!!!!!!!!!!!
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Great cards, the second is soooo perfect for online (postcrossing) world...
:-)))))))))))
And don't worry Groetje, you can be as famous as bear is when you are older!
Brilliant!
I love this series about fellow postcrossers. It's always nice to learn a bit more about the people here.
and famous now too!
Hugs!
hi baer ;)
congrats and it was great getting to know you again. I already knew all of that. LOL
How come your mailman doesnt like you? Are you like the dog who goes for his ankles? LOL
Greets your fav. Rotterdam meisje :-)
Great interview indeed.
We love you!! Kisses from portugal!
Nordbaer is a great user! I have a lot of great cards from him!
Is the flag still there - or does she stay there until the next world championship?
Kisses to our favorite Bär from Puerto Rico! :*
The German flag is still there, my girlfriend demands it - just like me, she is no patriot but she is crazy for soccer - so I have to leave it there to support the German national team... sigh... :-)))
Ah that's what mailboxes look like on the other side of the Rhine ;) :D
Thanks for all the great cards and nice words you spread all over the Postcrossing Globe :)
Our post office is never empty like that, it's always full.
We use to have a machine outside of the post office section where the post boxes are where people can buy stamps from a machine.
Now it's gone.
I just learned about postcrossing and joined. I love sending and receiving real live mail and have had a few penpals over the years. I look forward to sending/receiving postcards and using my original art to make some originals to send out too!
