I didn't know that angels do their part on Easter day ;-)
in our regions it's a bunny or the bells that bring the eggs and chocolate early in the morning

Hi ildikoo, Yes, it's mostly a religious holiday, but we do have the bunnies that bring Easter baskets with chocolate eggs, candies. The kids always have fun with the Easter egg hunt (even at the White House they host one). That's where the adults hide either dyed real eggs, or chocolate eggs or now even plastic ones filled with candy, and the kids go hunt them down.

I remember as a kid also, that we were lucky enough to get new Easter bonnets that we wore to church. There's a movie with Fred Astaire & Judy Garland "Easter Parade" that shows a big parade in NYC & they sing "In my Easter bonnet, with all the thrills upon it...."

I like the chocolate part the best :D, but chocolate in the US doesn't come close to chocolate in the Netherlands, Belgium or France etc. I've never had German chocolate though.
