Lantau Peak (934m) in Lantau South Country Park is Hong Kong's second highest mountain, inferior in height only to Tai Mo Shan. Overlooking open ocean to the east, its uplands offer panoramic vistas, making it one of the most popular spots for watching sunrise.
The legendary "Lantau Peak Sunrise" is so appealing that visitors are willing to climb Lantau Peak through the night. Just before dawn, as the morning rays light up a sky of floating clouds, hikers gather at the summit to marvel at one of the most majestic sights nature has to offer.
