On the first day of Chinese New Year, 23rd January, the Singapore Philatelic Museum opened the doors to this year’s Dragon exhibition, which is a great success!

They’ve received more than 100 postcards, that have been placed in a special album on the Dragon’s Lair. Mishelle Lim, who works at the museum (and has been busy replying to all received postcards!), tells us that both adults and children like to peruse the album and read the messages on them!

Once again, thank you to everyone who participated, and if you’re ever in Singapore, do visit the Philatelic Musem! :)

PostEurop is once again hosting their annual competition to choose the best EUROPA stamp of the year!

As some of you might know, the theme for 2011 is Forests, in honour of the current International Year of Forests.

Picking the best one is going to be a tough job, there are so many nice designs, don’t you think?

By now, many Postcrossing users are familiar with the Singapore Philatelic Museum and its very impressive Chinese New Year exhibitions.

Previous editions such as A rat’s tale, A Cow and Bull Story and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Danger were a big success, and included the participation of your themed postcards.

Next week starts the Year of the Rabbit, and once again, the Singapore Philatelic Museum invites you to take part in this year’s exhibition by sending in your bunny postcards (extra points for bunny stamps!) to:

Apart from being featured in the museum walls, all postcards received until the 15th 22nd of February will receive a thank you card from Mishelle, so don’t forget to include your address!

Every year, Postcrossing collaborates with the Singapore Philatelic Museum with one very special exhibition. But it’s not just every year, it’s every Chinese new year! The exhibit celebrates the Chinese Zodiac animals: Year of the Rat, Year of the Ox and, the current one, the Year of the Tiger.

A few month ago, we have requested Postcrossers from all over the world to send them postcards with tigers that they used to display in their exhibition: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Danger. And, as always, Postcrossers have excelled in their contribution and offered a shower of postcards.

Happy 2010!

While half of the world has already put away their celebratory hats and champagne cups, some are still stocking on fireworks for another big celebration… the Chinese New Year! On February 14th begins the Year of the Tiger… which means… it’s time for another exhibition at the Singapore Philatelic Museum!

On previous years, these collaborations resulted in amazing exhibitions (Year of the Rat, Year of the Ox) and so, once again, the museum is asking the Postcrossing community for submissions. This time the theme is, of course, tigers! You can mail your postcards and/or stamps featuring these big felines to:
