Postcrossing Spotlight: DiannaMacau from Macau

Dianna is the user with most postcards sent from Macau, and she loves it when members decorate them, or fill them with stickers! :)

Here is what she had to say to our spotlight questions:

How did you come across Postcrossing? What got you hooked?

I became a postcard lover since my first trip abroad, I enjoy sending postcards to my friends and to myself. One day my friend Staci told me about postcrossing so I become a member. I am so glad about Postcrossings as it has enabled me to contact people who love postcards and to swap with people around the world. We are able to share our feeling and stories with each other. I just love it. Thanks to Postcrossing, I have collected so many beautiful postcards now and have made some good friends!

Do you have any other interesting hobbies?

Yes, I love world travel, hiking, coffee tasting, reading, movies, music, gardening, cooking, quilting and learning other languages.

Show and tell us about your favorite received postcard to date, and what makes it special.

Here are some of my favourites:

DiannaMacau's favourite postcards DiannaMacau's favourite postcards DiannaMacau's favourite postcards DiannaMacau's favourite postcards
Have you been surprised by any place that you have received a postcard from or sent a postcard to?

I received a card from North Korea. :-)

Have you met any other members in real life?

Yes, one member from Thailand and one from Macau so far.

What is it your favorite part of the Postcrossing process?

My favorite part is to receive postcards. I really enjoying reading and looking at each one that I get. I also enjoy looking for cards to send to others. I really try to find cards that people will like. Sometimes that can be a challenge.

I love to decorate all my cards that I send out with stickers and magazine picture clippings and old stamps. I always use colored sharpies to write with, I even use an ink pad to color the back of the card to make a tie dye looking effect. Everyone loves them :)

How fun! :) I'm slowly getting more into adding stickers and other fun things to the postcards I send - I know that I enjoy seeing the extra fun little things! :)

Fun spotlight, nice to meet you! :)

Great cards, ... but doesn't the Postcrossing etiquette prohibit the publishing the backside of cards??

What a nice interview! :)
This kind of postcrossing spotlights amazes me: it is awesome to know a little bit more of some postcrossers fellows. And it is fantastic to see Postcrossing arrived to all of these countries.

Well, as for you Dianna, I wish you a lot of awesome postcards! It was cool to read you. :)

One of the first cards I received was from Diane. She sent me a great postcard of the New Bridge at Night. It really brought home how far the postcards were going to travel and how I would recieve them from different countries.

I wonder, like Wildernesscat, that written side of cards were published against the etiquette. And I wonder that you others who have written comments to this presentation, have said nothing about this. Wouldn't you mind at all if your card was published like this? I would.
Posted by eilai on 9 Jun, 2012

DiannaMacau, Macao
Well, this interview is all about sharing. I was asked to send in some examples of my favorite postcards. Postcards are an open mail that everyone can read, even the postman and all people who touch the cards. I did not published something personal and against the website etiquette rules. I am not sure why you mind seeing some great examples that people have sent me. Isn't the idea to share with each other the whole idea? I will be very very Happy if somebody using my as an example.

Lovely interview! It's nice to "get to know" some of your fellow Postcrssers in this way.

As for showing the backs of the cards, when you upload pictures of your cards, it is stated very clearly that addresses are not to be shown. No addresses are showing in the cards DiannaMacau used in the interview.

多謝你嘅分享吖 :)
收到北韓嘅明信片實係開心啦!
In my opinion,it is not a problem to show the postcard cause the address parts has been blanked it.
Thank you for the sharing!
Macao is very good as I've travelled Macao once although HK is so near Macao :)

It is refreshing to hear from someone who embraces the spirit of Postcrossing! It is depressing to read the demands of so many people who "don't want to receive this or that". You just enjoy the gift - you are a true Postcrosser! Bless you :))
Posted by devonwrecked on 9 Jun, 2012

DiannaMacau, Macao
Hello Devonwrecked,
Thank you so much ! You can not image how happy I was when received each card everyday and how much I was into it. It upsads me a little when someone do not understand. But it will not able to stop my hobbie and sharing my happiness with my friends around the world.

Enjoy Postcrossing

Lovely interview. I thought it was interesting that several commenters expressed concern about the backside being shown. Like Dianna, I assumed it was just for the address. My postman has actually told me, "I love post cards. I know I am not supposed to read them, but I do. They make my day."

Yes right autummaple, the postcard really make us happy and make many prople smile. Thanks you !
