About Eamon...
Greetings from Ireland. My parents came from Hong Kong in the early 80s to start a family in Ireland. I'm a Jack of all trades, master of none kind of guy. A graphic designer, web developer, radio producer, and sound technician to name a few.
In June, I was let go from my job in radio and realised I have no hobbies. I'm trying to get back in shape by running and playing football but embarrassingly injured my knee after the first game. I wanted to collect watches but quickly realised how expensive it could get. I have always wanted to travel but finances were never my strong suit. Photography could be an avenue down the line.
I randomly stumbled on a video about postcards with the same sky and I went down the rabbit hole. I just started my collection with a bunch of typical tourist postcards from gift shops but found a thrift store with vintage postcards, stamps, coins, etc. and purchased a few vintages. I have ordered so many sets and as they arrived I realised how much I've been spending and need to relax a bit.
Just now in August, I got hired back at my job so I see it as a nice two month break where found an amazing hobby. I haven't been able to play football though, my knee still hasn't recovered.
I really like stamps and Illustrated vintage travel postcards. My interests range from:
- Art
- City views
- Buildings
- Bridges
- Landscapes
- Maps
- History
As a newbie to collecting, I would love to hear how you got started and how big your collection is. Thanks for taking the time to read my profile and looking forward to hearing from you. Happy Postcrossing!
