My name is Weronika, I live in Southern Poland in a village called Dębowiec and I'm 19 years old. In October I've started studying Swedish philology in the wonderful city of Kraków as I'm interested in Swedish culture and Scandinavia in general and I love learning foreign languages.
My favourite activity is reading books, especially those written in 19th/20th century. Nowadays I focus on classic literature, and I'm still discovering it. One of my most favourite writers is Thomas Mann and recently I've started to be passionate about Marcel Proust's "In Search of Lost Time".
When it comes to music, I listen to David Bowie and Bob Dylan - they are definitely my favourite musicians. However, I'm really concerned with various kinds of music from 1930s, 1940s and 1950s too (Elvis Presley, Edith Piaf, Judy Garland, and others). It relaxes me and allows me to feel vintage vibes.
In my spare time I watch films, mostly old or not-so-commercial.
Art is also very important branch which influences my life. I'm impressed with paintings by Gustav Klimt, Edvard Munch, Vincent van Gogh and also various collages. Sometimes I sketch and create collages myself. I have my own journal/scrapbook. In my estimation, it's simply a perfect way for satisfying a desire for making art and, what is more, expressing feelings.
I love "old-fashioned" clothes and vintage fashion. I'm still improving my own style. That's why I'm crazy about second-hand shops and any ways of thrifting. I have also a passion for dressing up. When I have a peculiar mood, I want to look like women in particular decade. It's a big fun and pleasure when I wear outfit (e.g. in 1900s style) and take photos using self-timer.
The another activity that makes me happy is practising gymnastics, doing various stretching exercises and dancing a little. Some people say I have a gift for it. Therefore, I sometimes regret that I'm not able to be a ballet dancer. I can treat gymnastics and so on as one of my hobbies, after all.
Besides, I'm happy when I drink tea (especially green - I like those with rose petals, milk oolong and discovering new tastes while visiting tea rooms), have a conversation with nice people and, obviously, when I get postcards! So it'll be wonderful if you send me a card connected with my interests or your country/region. I'd like to get postcards from all over the world. Please, write whatever you want, but write a lot. I'm looking forward to getting the card from you! I find Postcrossing a great thing, so enjoy it!
