I live in a large Siberian city on the bank of a very big river. I teach English at a universty and study social philocophy for my PhD.

If you send me a card, it does not really matter what it looks like, but I do like postcards with some text, with something to read from you. Tell me about the place where you live, or a last trip you took, or a meal you cooked recently, or a film you watched, or your favorite book. A phrase in your native language with an English translation is always welcome!

I'm fond of travelling, learning new languages, reading new books. My two big favorites are "Harry Potter" and "Lord of the Rings", but my true love is "Glasperlenspiel" by Hermann Hesse. I love maps, schemes, routes, hiking, being lost in a foreign country, long-distance walking, hostels, motels, subway, trains, driving on a straight road that meets the horizon (like the ones in American Mid-West), bridges, night streets, city lights, photos of random people.

As for very strange requests - if your local politicians or parties give you postcards as part of their election campaigns, I'd love to receive these! When I travel I always take pictures of all posters and slogans I can see. It is very educational and fun to see what politicians think appeals to their local people.
