About Tanja...

I'm a Ukrainian, but I live in Germany. I have been living in Germany since 21 years. I love Germany and I love the life here. I like the nature that surrounds me.

When I leave my house I can reach the forest or the field in 15 minutes. There are many artifical lakes nearby. When I look out of the window I can see hills. I like to go outside daily no matter what weather it is. On the way I gather sounds and smells, admire trees and flowers, take photos of them occasionally. As Shakespeare said: " The earth has music for those who listen." The walking makes me feel free.
That's why I go hiking on my vacations. It's only natural that I go hiking in Germany, to the Alps. And into the mountains I go to lose my mind and found my soul. I like the nature's peace and the solitude.
I also spend my vacations on the North Sea coast or putting it more precisely on the island of Sylt. It is the biggest of the North Frisian Islands.

The garden is my passion too. I like flowers, the grass and the fruit trees. I like to pick cherries, raspberries, blackcurrants, strawberries and apples. Either I let them dry or I cook jam.

I'm a bookworm. I cannot live without books. I read several books at the same time. I like all kinds of books. As I was a child I learned quite rapid that the books are the quietest and the most constant of friends and the most patient of teachers. There are days I need only short story, on other days I need the power of poetry or novel. Sometimes my brain need books about science, culture, philosophy or biography. Not only I read the books but also listen to the audiobooks or to the podcasts.

When I go to the city or make a journey I always visit all bookstores( the individual one) or the library. The last one I visited was the library in Amsterdam. I like and need the atmosphere of them. I also go to the cafes or parks. When I have enough time I go to cemeteries.

I like music and art, I collect paintings. I go to the theatre and cinema, I enjoy doing it.

I'm also interested in history, music, foreign languages, science, different cultures, humor, lifestyle and some more. I like to do crossword puzzle, to knot, to do cross Stich or to puzzle.

What I expect from " postcrossing"? I visited only three countries in my life. I don't think it would be more in the future. So I would let the world to my life.I hope the "postcrossing" would help me with it.

Please send me a card that you personally find interesting. You may write, what makes this card special for you. I don't like only city postcards, especially multi-view of them.
I would be glad about unusual stamps.

I really appreciate when you write a little about you. You can tell me about the book, film, music that impressed you. You can write your favourite poem or quotation from the book or recipe that you cooked last and I should too. Describe the view from your window!

Have a wonderful day and enjoy every moment
