Hello everybody!,

This is a special account, because there are two people involved: My mother and I.
Let me first tell you something about my mother:
My mother is 75 years old and lies already for more than 2 years in a bed in a nursing home. She cant get out of bed because of her 40 year-long illness (rheumatoid arthritis. She always wanted to stay in her own home for as long as possible, and hated to go to a nursing home. But alas, she had several strokes and then there was no other option for her..
She can't speak and because of the strokes she cant understand everything anymore. But she loves to watch television and.. to see pictures and hear stories.
That's when I (the daughter of Therese) came up with the idea to make a Postcrossing-account for her. My name is Dion, and I'm 39 years old. I also have my own postcrossing-account with the username "Divon".
I do the writing and sending of postcards for her and she in return will receive the postcards that are send to her. So we can give her a brighter day and cheer up her wall with postcards from all over the world.

What cards you can send?
Well, that's up to you. Animals , flowers, colorful cards, cartoons, nature, children, people. (All real or painted/drawn, doesn't matter). Or Christmas-cards around December.
But that's just an idea, you can send anything you want.

The address you see is my mother's address in the nursing home, so she'll receive the cards there and because I visit her every day I can read and translate them for her.
