About teacherriina...

Hi from Finland!

We are a 6th grade class (age 11-12) from Oulu, Finland. Our teacher loves postcrossing and decided to turn it into a classroom activity this semester. Postcrossing is an amazing way to get to know foreign places, so we aim to send and receive as many cards as possible.

If you could tell us something interesting of your country or area, write something in your language (and translate it into English) or tip us about something worth learning, it would be really nice. Weather, community, history, geography, local customs, food, anything will be fine. Don't take any pressure - receiving cards written in English is a fine lesson for us too, and each card will bring us huge joy.

Students will write the cards we send. They will receive as much help as they feel they need, but the cards won't be written in teacher's handwriting. :D Here in Finland we start learning English in 3rd grade and Swedish in 6th grade.

Our class consists of almost 30 students, who all like different things, so we don't have any particular wishes about the illustrations in cards. Send us something interesting, and we will be happy to receive it. We'd like to receive the cards without envelopes.

Thank you! Or "kiitos", as we say here in Finland. :)
