My name is Tapani. I´m a single, old male from Tampere, Finland, Scandinavia. In summertime I use to live at my summer cottage in the countryside, Hauho, Southern Finland. I´ve worked in many professions in my life, for example, as an senior university lecturer for about nine years in Finland and in China. I´ve lived and worked in China for about three years in Beijing, Xiamen, Guilin, Haikou and Wenchang. I´ve also worked as a technical writer for mechanical and machinery industry. In my youth I worked for around 3 years as an ordinary seaman in Finnish commercial fleet and I also lived and worked in Stockholm, Sweden for a year.

I have a lot of hobbies but some of them were under hibernation for a long time because of corona pandemic. I´m widely interested in different kind of things. I´m fond of reading as well as photographing. I also like traveling, seeing new places and getting new experiences. I try to keep myself in good condition. That´s why I use to jog and dance social dances (tango, waltz, jive, bugg etc.) as well as practice taiji. I like long distance running/marathons (25 this far). I swim once and a while - I also enjoy winter swimming/ice-swimming. I like fishing and outdoor life in the countryside, for example, wandering in the woods (especially in summertime and autumn) and picking up berries and mushrooms. I use to go to dancing halls every now and then to dance and have a good time. I like to share my spare time with my friends doing all kind of things.

Nonetheless, I don´t mind being alone and being lazy as a log once and a while eating sweets. You just lay down on a bed and stare at the ceiling or you lay on a hammock in the countryside in summer and stare at the sky. This is very, very important sometimes... just to do nothing at all. And how many people do this in modern society? Very few. Thoughts can also be walked outside in the fresh air by lying in a bed indoors. There is no life without dreams. The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time! Later, I also realized that aging is the only way to live longer.

And don’t forget to rejoice from the moment where happiness is present, for happiness cannot be stored anywhere. It must be lived through when it is present.

All kind of postcards are welcome and make me and my mailbox happy! I prefer postcards to bills.

Please, beside your signature write your name on the postcard so that it´s legible. Everybody is able to read his own signature but for other people it´s often hard!!!

I hope that after strange years 2020 - 2022 this year 2024 will bring you a happy, healthy and more "normal" year, and of course lots of nice postcards! Keep cool.
