About Simone...

Happy greetings from Switzerland in Romansh. This is our fourth national language, after Swiss German, French and Italian. Allegra can be translated as “Rejoice”! It is similar to the modern Greek χαίρετε!

Again this year, Postcrossing should be a lot of fun and it will be exciting to connect with people from all over the world. I look forward to receiving beautifully decorated cards which will be emotionally moving because of the motif you choose. What does this mean to you? I am interested in your card you picked and your thoughts.

I lived in the Swiss Alps for two years and learned to love this one word: patschifig. It is borrowed from Rhaeto-Romanic and found its way into the Grison language a long time ago. Patschifig means phlegmatic, comfortable, peaceful. But also to be at home and to preserve this precious place. It denotes a state of total well-being.

How can we all, no matter where, use this magic word in Covid times! I wish you a lot of strength and courage, as well as a lot of patience and good health.

Good luck!
