About Victoria...

Well, as always I do feel a bit overwhelmed by the blank space in front of me that I have to fill in with something;-) I probably should say that I have always been fascinated with the process of sending letters, I mean real letters, made of paper and ink, that even the spread of e-mails did not discourage me from going to the post office, sticking stamps on the envelopes, writing addresses in my I-wish-it-were-neat handwriting and wishing (in a whisper) to my letters to have a safe journey.

So, what kind of a postcard am I expecting to find in my post box?

- My absolute favourites are black-and-white photos.
- Vintage and retro-style cards are very welcome!

Something from the following list would also make me extremely happy:
- Moomin cards;
- Terese Bast's, Reettа Isotupa-Siltanen's or Pete Revonkorpi's cards if you're from Finland;
- cards by Марыся Рудськая (с лисичками)if you're from Ukraine;
- Edward Gorey's illustrations;
- Katsuhisa Toda's works;
- Rudi Hurzlmeier's cards;
- Edward Hopper's paintings;
- book cover illustrations;
- Keep Calm posters;
- Chinese watercolours;
- Little Prince cards;
- Alice in Wonderland cards;
- children's books illustrations;
- cards made in ink or India ink;
- Banksy's graffiti.

I like artistic cards, quirky cards, cards that can tell a story.

Animal, multiple-view and touristy postcards are really NOT my thing!

You can put the postcard in an envelope or let it travel light. Whatever you choose, please write me a couple of lines. It doesn't have to be anything special. Just say Hi or let me know what's on your mind at this particular moment. Or, if you feel like it, you can share with me a few lines from your favourite poem or some famous person's quotation that you for some reason find interesting, funny, irritating. You can tell me what your favourite word is and explain why you like it so much, or share a word whose exact equivalent can't be found in other languages. Just make it personal, at least a bit. Because getting a postcard from other side of the world is great but getting a postcard with a story - that's something remarkable!
