About Simon...

Welcome and thanks for coming to check out my profile.

My partner and I are parents of a daughter and a son who are in the later years of primary school. We live near the beach and the river with our ex-racing greyhound Pharaoh, who we take for a walk at the local oval a couple of times a day. The kids will enjoy seeing your cards and messages, and finding where you're from on their spinning globe.

I've always loved travelling, even though as a kid I regularly used to get travel sick. As a boy I used my first pay packet from a job delivering newspapers in Melbourne to buy a map of the world for my bedroom wall. After years of dreaming, I left Australia and spent nearly 15 years living and travelling in exotic climes from Japan to the Congo and India to Iceland. Discovering new people and places is a joy and postcards are a great way to do it.

My partner also suffers from bouts of wanderlust. She grew up in England and in early adulthood went to work as a primary school teacher in Mexico, Spain and Italy. We love the arts and like to read and watch foreign films.

Please send whatever postcard, stamps and words you wish. If you're a French speaker, don't hesitate to write in French, a language I continue to enjoy learning after many years. The kids would love any card featuring a greyhound. And if you happen to send a postcard connected in some way to my favourite artist, Oskar Kokoschka, or indeed any of the expressionists, I would be thrilled to get it.

I look forward to hearing from you.
