Hi there!

26 years ago I was born in a quirky country you definitely have been hearing about for some time, Ukraine.

The last year of my life in Kyiv was pretty intense. In November 2013, I came back from London, where I graduated from Victorian Studies MA, just in time to take part in the Ukrainian Revolution. Hundreds of thousands of my co-citizens stood up against governmental repressions, police violence and corruption of the regime in a revolutionary movement called Maidan. We paid a high price for our victory in that battle. Hundreds of Ukrainians were killed during the winter of 2013-2014. But, we could not even imagine that quite soon we'd be facing an even greater danger of military aggression of Putin's Russia.

Now Russian army is bombing Ukraine from Russian territory. Hundreds and hundreds of only daughters and only sons of Ukrainian parents are killed by Russia-sponsored terrorists and Russian army that helps them. Putin supplies terrorists with heavy weapons, terrorists who actually torture people to death cutting their stomachs open and who shoot passenger planes with 300 civilians onboard.

Sorry for the bad news, guys. This is how we live here, in Ukraine. I am just a Ukrainian girl, who wakes up at nights, during thunderstorms, thinking, that the bombing of my city has started.
