Hi My name is Norman. I am a retired elementary teacher who taught grades 3,4,5,6 at various times throughout my career. I live in Timmins, Ontario, Canada which is a mining community that celebrated its 100th Birthday in 2012 and is the home of Shania Twain. I love to read and I am a great fan of hockey. I am a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. I just love to read and am a history enthusiast. I am very interested in reading about the history of Canada, our role in the two great wars, and the history of Timmins. I also enjoy the fiction writing of John Grisham, Arthur Hailey, and Ken Follett. I like biographies of famous historical figures as well hockey players and baseball players in particular those who are Christians as I am. I enjoy many genres of music. My favourite music is vintage rock and roll from the 50's and 60's. I also like original rhythm and blues, gospel music, old fashioned hymns, light classical music and dance music from the 40's. My favourite postcards to receive are those depicting (especially) churches from your country, outdoor scenery, outdoor activities, buildings that show the architecture common to your community or country, and postcards showing famous historical people or monuments pertaining to your country. I also enjoy receiving black and white historical postcards showing people involved in activities of the time, historical buildings, famous sites. However, I enjoy every type of postcard sent to me even if it is not one of the types I just listed. I look forward to receiving a postcard from you.
