About Joke...

Hello fellow world-citizen!

We appear to share a hobby as well as this world!

In 2011 my niece(born 1985) introduced us to Postcrossing. Our daughters(born 1996 and 2000) each made an account and I enjoyed the picking of cards, writing and receiving cards as much as they did. I was tempted to make my own account, but I waited until they didn't need my help anymore.
My account name is my second Christian name. I was named after one of my fathers aunts(born 1905). She lived in Rotterdam(at that time the biggest harbor in the world) with her sister.
They sent me and my sister lots of postcards(one for each of us every time!)with photographs of the city/harbor or children's images. I remember feeling very special with these cards, sent especially to me.

My favorite aunt(born 1933)also sent me a postcard quite often. At first the image interested me most. But later, when I learned to read, the other side of the postcard became more important than the picture. She always put a cute remark about what was on the front of the postcard, or other sweet things.
Of course later I wrote her back. And when she died in 2010 I got a large envelope with cards and letters I had written to her over the years: they brought back memories I had long forgotten.

So I think you can guess some of my wishes: what you write is more important than the picture. Preferably happy things, but if you are sad or angry: feel free to share it with me; I will tell no one!
Another wish: a proverb or saying in your own language or from your region. I especially like "Words of Wisdom".
Of course with the meaning and translation if necessary.

Some suggestions for the picture:
-You could choose a card you like, and tell me why.
-So many people write they do not want ad- or free-cards. That makes me curious about them. If you send me one: tell me what it is an advertisement for and whether you think that is any good.
-A card, which has been in your stock for a long time because you can't find the right person or occasion to send it, or is slightly damaged.
- Put a postcard that has already been sent in an envelope. Add a note to tell me how you got it, translate what is written on it and tell me why you like it or why you want to get rid of it.

I'm not really into direct swaps, but if you want a reply: feel free to give me your address.

Best wishes. I hope I didn't make things too difficult for you and you enjoy writing to me.

Joke.(and that is not a joke: it is short for Johanna and pronounced like: yoka)
