About markuskuo...

Hello, everyone (各位好)!

I'm Markus Kuo from Taiwan, Asia. I was born and raised in Tainan, which was the capital of Taiwan around 300 years ago and hybridized Dutch, Japan and Chinese culture. (Tainan, literally, means Southern Taiwan)

Taiwan is located in the east of China (cross by Taiwan Strait), south of Japan and north of Philippines, which is alongside of sea, mountains, plains and forests. Along with outlying islands from Kinmen, Matsu (both were front lines as military bases around 60 years ago, also well-known for their knives manufacturing and Kaoliang distilled liquor), Orchid Island (Beautiful island but stores nuclear wastes from Taiwan nuclear power plants) to Peng-hu archipelagos (characterise in its terrains and old-Chinese style early than Taiwan Island).

I love sunshine and love travelling. Young people often experienced circumnavigation around Taiwan by bicycles to contact with nature and villagers around the island. (Generally takes 7-14 days depends on schedules)

The weather in Tainan is extremely fine, especially the sunshine.
People are passionate to tourists. Tainan is an old city with many heritages from 17th century fortress made by both Dutch (for trading and dominance of VOC) and Chinese (for protection from invasion) but also showed many touching aspects both in delicate food and natural landscapes. Many secret gourmets can be coincidentally met. Also, in small alleys here with surprise. Moreover, owing to city development earlier than other cities in Taiwan. Thus, it's easy to get lost in a "maze" but able to find many unexpected scenes.

Any kinds of postcards are welcome, but the preference of natural landscapes and people.

May we share the culture differences between two countries. Besides, my interest is watching football(soccer) game and reading news to understand how the world rotates and develops.

Occasionally I enjoy taking a walk along the streets or small/narrow alleys, and really love the part of calm and serene in that environment.

If you'd like to learn some Mandarin (the official language is Chinese, but we write it traditionally, preserved the beauty of Chinese characters), we may share it:)

Wishes you who is reading messages are fine in your work, studying, or just enjoy your trips:) !!
