About Anna...

Dear Postcrosser, nice to meet you here!
I studied linguistics at the university, now work as a translator. I like being outdoor - exploring the city and area around it, visiting numerous historical places (wartime, in particular) or just enjoying nature any time of the year, esp. wandering along the coast in winter which is about 1-hour drive from my place.
Random about me: love cycling, no jeans & black clothes/shoes, never tasted coffee, prefer winter and autumn, cold over heat, chocolate over any other food, like being alone & travelling alone, fond of knitting & sewing, enjoy Irish dances, recently got obsessed with patchwork.

I'm interested in postcards (of any size and shape) with:
- lighthouse, sailing ship, warship, port, wharf/shipyard
- World War II (warship, weaponry, Arctic convoys, war memorial, photos of post-war cities)
- the Arctic & the Antarctic exploration & nature
- fort, fortress, castle (a stronghold with turrets, towers, moats); please, NOT classical style palaces
- rainy, foggy, misty, stormy, frosty, snowy, winter landscape, sun in the woods (sea fog over San Francisco Bay is very much desired)
- national symbol of your country/region (bird, flower etc.)
- flowers: tulips, bluebells, blue cornflowers (http://www.postcrossing.com/postcards/EE-172822) or fields of wild flowers and lavender
- decorative elements: windows, doors, stairs, gates, ceramic tiles
- Art Nouveau or Jugendstil in architecture and interior design (buildings, patterns, decorative elements mentioned above)
- countryside view
- old factory or plant, working process
- abandoned building or site
- Bryan Adams
- patchwork

Less specific that I like:
- local landscape
- local birds
-------
I'm NOT fond of touristy postcards, but if you want to send me one, please choose something not very popular & usual, e.g. just a cosy street, a tram, a town clock...
Please, no skyscrapers, pets, roses, hearts.
-------
Interesting postal stamps are so much appreciated!!! If possible, use several different stamps.

Feel free to write anything you want. Or:
- comment on the card, name its subject in your language
- little something about you, your house, family or job (or anything random)
- your travelling experience
- if you don't mind sharing any simple recipe of cookies or pie - I'll be happy:)
Write something like "Best wishes" in your language. And please write your name clear.

Hope to get a postcard from you soon! Thank you. Happy Postcrossing!

P.S. The cards under my favourites are cards that I haven't received, so don't feel upset if I don't favourite your card, I treasure every card I get!!!

P.P.S. No need to print out my address in Russian (Cyrillics), it's for those who write me in Russian. Or at least you can try your hand in it:))
