Hello from Central Asia!

My name is Kamila, I am 18, from Kazakhstan, Almaty.

During a recent clean up in my room, I have found the beautiful postcards that I have recieved from 4 years ago. I reread all of them and felt really nostalgic, so I got inspired to start postcrossing again.
A lot has changed during these 4 years, I finally finished school, I am moving out very soon to go to university in another city. I feel like I will start my adult life over there and I am both excited and nervous.

I will miss my city a lot after I move away. Almaty is really close to nature and mountains. It is very easy to go hiking, which I love. Weather over here can quickly change several times a day. We have all of the four seasons, summer being my favourite. Almaty is unofficially called the "southern capital" of Kazakhstan. While the city I am moving to, Astana, is our country's actual capital. In contrast to Almaty, the weather there is really cold. And because it is surrounded by flat steppe, it is very windy. I hope I will like living there and have a fun college experience. I will be studying to become a doctor, so I also hope I will be able to keep up with my courses.
