Today, I smiled when I saw the bright morning light shining through the changing foliage of a chestnut tree. I love trees. I love their colouring in autumn. I love autumn.
How I would love to be in Canada right now, or the Great Plains for that matter, to see with my own eyes how autumn transforms the rich summer greenness of the vast forests and the sweeping grasslands.
One day, I want to canter across those plains - overcoming fears and limitations on a horse I can call my own. A horse I raised and trained, my pride and companion for life. A bay horse, ardent in spirit, soft in heart. Being alone, alone on my horse, soothes me. As long as his movements eventually take me home.
