i am a retired jazz dance teacher, and now work as a textile artist, although my tertiary education was in literature and psychology. so i love to read, both fiction and reference books, and i love to sew creatively. i am currently reconstructing vintage kimonos.

although i no longer dance, i have replaced that passion with yoga, and attend several classes a week as well as a home practice. i simply love it, both physically and spiritually.

i live close to the beach, and start every day (summer or winter) with a walk along the sand and a swim in the indian ocean. it is my favorite time of the day.

because of my dance background, i have always enjoyed listening to and moving to music, although these days i am most likely to listen to soothing sounds! similarly i am attracted to beauty in art, and have a huge appreciation of clever design in all areas.

i have a wonderful family and an adorable cat, and i am lucky to live a very gentle and contented life surrounded by a small but very beautiful garden. i have an array of very interesting friends, two of whom alerted me to postcrossing. i am looking forward to sharing a tiny bit of your life, and welcome any postcards that you think i may enjoy.
