About Janet...

I'm Janet, 58 years, married, no children. I'm born in Germany but my parents are from The Netherlands. At the age of 17 I lived in The Netherlands and moved to Norway with my husband in september 1997. I'm intensive care nurse and work parttime on a day-surgery. I lived and worked for a short while on Iceland and on Greenland where I worked in the local hospital.
I also work in the company Placement which my husband and I own together. Since may 2015 we started also a small foodshop, called "Stolt Mat" which means "Proud Food". We sell local food products from western Norway. Take a look at www.stoltmat.com .

I'm very glad in Norwegian nature. In winter I like skiing. In summer I like to go hiking in the mountains. We have a special internetsite about our hikingtours in Norway: www.vandringer.no

I like fitness training, both in- and outdoor, most jogging and spinning.

I like to read and I'm a member of a reading group together with 9 other women, which we startet in January 2009. Every 6 weeks we come together and discuss the book we read.

I like to write letters to my family and friends abroad (throw real post). Nothing, not even e-mail, can substitute a normal letter which you can hold between your fingers and "comfort with" on the bench, together with a cup of tea.

Furtheron I have a little garden in which I cultivate my own vegetables. Working in my flowergarden is also a hobby I like to do. I'm very fond of butterflies.

We own a little cabin in the mountains which we visit as much as we can. About 40 nights per year we spent our time there.

Also culture, visiting museum, cinema and music in general is something I like!

At the 18th of June 2012 I became a member of the local Rotary International Club. If you are Rotary-member in your country it would be nice to hear from you how your club is doing.

And last but not least: since september 2011 I'm a politician too in my municipality. That's a lot of work so I hope I can keep all my activities "in controll" :-)

It doesn't metter what kind of card you send, but it would be nice if you mentioned the date of posting. Thanks!
