About Shelley...

I am female, in my 40's and living in Toronto. It is an awesome city full of people from all over the world. I work in health care with marginalized populations and newcomers to this multicultural city. I love learning and knowing about people from different parts of the world.

I miss real mail. I lived in Kenya for 3 years (pre internet) and loved receiving letters and corresponding. Now with the internet it seldom seems necessary to put pen to paper. I'm thrilled with this opportunity.

I also love this idea that we get to mail out something good to someone we don't know. Like sending a piece of ourselves and our love out into the universe. It is also a chance for me to send out some of my photos for others to enjoy. So, I like to make homemade postcards and would love to receive some.

Some of my interests include photography, writing poetry, sketching, needlework, gardening, cooking and traveling. I have an inquisitive mind and just want to know about stuff. I'm enjoying this process of sending and receiving postcards! It's so fun to get something in the mail besides bills and junk mail. I look forward to your postcard.

I love art, unusual landscapes and quirky photography. But mostly I love hearing something specific about your life and your city or country. It may seem silly, boring or mundane to you - but the most interesting cards I get always share something very specific about the sender's life. Any cards that appeal to you are wonderful - but if they express your personality, that's even better.

I also like to do crafts and make a variety of items. Sometimes I sell things on ETSY (which is a website for people making handmade). If you want to view the handmade items I like to make you can see them by checking out: http://www.etsy.com/people/feltneeds

Sometimes I post my poetry on my blog, just for fun:

But I recognize poetry is not for everyone.
