Hi, I am Sofia!
My last name comes from the name of a jackdaw bird. I was born and raised in Moscow with my older sister. All members of my family are physicists from different fields of science. Personally, I am involved in biophysics (calcium signalling in human platelets), while my parents are fond of space physics. Completed my master's degree at MSU in 2023, now it is time for PhD in biophysics. I work as a research laboratory assistant in a children's oncohematological hospital. Love silence and long nightwalks. I am not a religious person.

We have a cat named Dulcinea, two cockatiels Kira and Kirill and big fig tree Fedor on the balcony. We also have a "dacha" (summer cottage-house) where mom grows tons of vegetables in the summer, and then urgently saves the crops from spoilage in the fall.

Random favorite things: traveling, looking at beautiful views from a great height (in nature or in cities), paintings of the abstractionists, webtoons, lilacs and peonies, satin stitch embroidery, birds, mango shake, minimalism in lifestyle, plain food, post-punk, phonk, ink pens.

I would be happy to receive all types of postcards with all kinds of stories! Beautiful stamps are welcome! Here are some tips to make your selection easier:
- Landscapes, buildings, museum cards, space theme, BIRDS!
- Открытки Русского Географического Общества (РГО)
- Fairy tales characters, paintings (especially by Kandinsky)
- Plants, animals, nature, food, tourist cards, lighthouses, WPD
- Something famous, lovely or special from your country\town
- One of the most beautiful postcards at your disposal (free theme). Show me a real work of postcard art from your point of view!
- Something related to physics or biology (famous scientists are welcome too)
- Anime (all from Miyazaki, Soul Eater, Cowboy Bebop, Ergo Proxy, etc, there is not enough space to name all)

Maybe it makes sense to leave these themes to their real fans: HP, LOTR, Disney, k-pop, Marvel/DC, Dr Who, other popular series and films, politics, Halloween, Christmas, other important dates, handmade.

As for a story, you can tell me your favorite\family recipe or tradition, last song you listened to, everyday story, favourite poem. Write me anything you want to share and please don't forget the date. The post office brings me postcards in batches, I register what I receive right away!

If you prefer an envelope, a wrap from some pretty candy would be a nice addition :)

Random fact about Moscow: "Ботанический сад" metro station which literally means "Botanical Garden" is voiced and written in train cars in English as "Botanichesky Sad", but who exactly is sad here isn't specified.
