Hello Postcrossing! My name is August Meng.

I come from Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. It's a very beautiful city with 2,500 years of history. Suzhou is famous for its classical gardens. Small Bridges and flowing water, gentle and elegant are the characteristics of the city. Therefore, it is also known as the "Venice of the East".

I love geography very much and often read Chinese National Geographic magazine. I like the sea, snow mountains, volcanoes and other natural landscapes very much. I am very interested in the geography of various regions.

I also like traveling very much. I haven't been abroad yet, but I'd like to. China is very big, so it takes a long time to travel around the country. I have only been to Yunnan, Shandong, Zhejiang, Beijing and Shanghai, but I am still unlocking new areas. If you are interested in the various regions of China, I may be able to share their fascinating characteristics with you. I would also love to hear about your city and country.

I'm just one year into college. Now I am a student majoring in film and television. I love movies and I want to be an actor and a director. My favorite directors are Jia Zhangke and Hirokazu Kore-eda. I also like Wong Kar-wai, Edward Yang and Hou Hsiao-hsien very much. My favorite actress is Sakura Ando from Japan. I like Emma Stone, too. I am also very interested in western films and pay close attention to the works in the three major film festivals and the Oscars. I think it is very interesting to study the differences between Eastern and Western films.

I like music very much, especially Western music. I like pop and indie music. My favorite singer is Taylor Swift. I also love Dua Lipa. Indie singers such as Phoebe Bridgers, yeule, Charli XCX, etc. I like Kpop, too. My favorite kpop group is NewJeans.
