Hello, all!

My name is Kelly, and I’m an American living and studying in Japan. When I’m in Japan, I miss my dog; when I’m in the US, I miss Japanese bookstores. I love foreign languages, traveling, reading, animals, sports, and learning new things!

I would be happy to receive any kind of postcard, but if you’re looking for ideas, here are a few things I’m particularly interested in:

・animals (especially canines, national animals, and mythological creatures)
・nighttime scenes/illumination
・buildings/architecture (castles, temples, skyscrapers, bridges, cityscapes...)
・culture or history from your city or country (an iconic food, World Heritage Sites, traditional crafts....)
・LGBTQ
・holidays/seasonal
・illustrations/graphics
・anything cute, colorful, unusual, or quirky

I also like ad and handmade postcards, as long as they’re sturdy and well-constructed (so they won't tear/crease/come apart in transit). For handmade postcards, I appreciate effort, creativity and personality; for ad postcards, I’m actively interested in ones from exhibits, museums, and other special events.

And I look forward to reading whatever you want to write about, but if you’re coming up blank, here are some ideas:

・Tell me a bit about your neighborhood.
・What is your favorite word or saying in your language? (Yes, even if it’s English!)
・Sketch something (even if you’re terrible at drawing!).
・What is your favorite animal and why?
・Is there something about your city or country that only a person who lives there would know about?
・Tell me about your name—what it means or why you were named that.

Of course, these are just ideas; feel free to send whatever postcard you want and write whatever you’d like! I very much enjoy a good surprise.

広告や手作りも、出来上がりがよくて丈夫な物だったら歓迎します（丈夫さを主張するのは、郵送の途中で折れたり破れたりしたら残念だからです）。手作りは、努力・独創性・クリエイティビティは感心します。広告のポストカードは、展覧会やイベントなどの物は特に興味があります。

メッセージは好きなように書いていただければ嬉しいんですが、「書くものなんて思い浮かばない！」と言う方がいらしたら、こんなのはいかがでしょうか？

・母語で一番好きな言葉・ことわざ（母語はなんであろうとも）
・何か描いてみて下さい（画力や絵のセンスが0でもいいから！)
