About Dmytro...

Hello! My name is Dmytro. Sorry for my bad English)
I'm 25 years old, I'm engineer.

Practice shows that foreigners know our country by the boxers Klitschko, Shevchenko soccer player, poet Shevchenko (sometimes people confused them, but other than their names, nothing connects) recently by the Euro 2012, but unfortunately the Chernobyl disaster too.

But actually in Ukraine so much more interesting. We have a wonderful, picturesque country with centuries-old traditions, affable and friendly people of intercepting breath landscapes and euphonious and unique language.

I do not have any preferences as to what will be depicted on the card I get. I really believe that the essence of this project is the fact that each received Postcard must be a sort of little surprise or even a gift. And who chooses gifts itself? From that moment receive the card is not so striking that could be because you already know what send to you. On the other hand I understand the people who request to send the postcards to any particular
topics they want to collect something specific, is kind of hobbies in hobbies, two in one so to say.

Meanwhile I don’t want to force you, (the people who will send me a card)to search thematic postcards, because I know for myself that it is sometimes not easy. For example, in my town, not so easy to find a normal postcard, especially some thematic (even in post office).

In my opinion this is caused by the development of social networks, the Internet, mobile communications, and communication in general. People stopped to greet each other with the holidays by
traditional mail, instead of preferring to communicate in a digital world exchanging the digital messages, which besides dry recordings on digital media nothing to leave after itself.

But only a few decades ago, our grandparent’s letters were the only means of communication.

Thanks to projects like these, we are able to restore traditions, and preserve a piece of history for future generations, and it is actually wonderful.

Happy Postcrossing! Regards Dmytro.
