About Cheryl...

Hello, my name is Cheryl and in a few months will be celebrating the big 6-0 birthday!. 2020 will see some changes for me at my work, the main one being is that I am going back to teaching FULL-TIME!!! That might take a bit to get used to, I think. I will also have my own class for the whole time now with 22 Year 2 and 3 children. I have been teaching for 39 years now out in the country, in very large schools, in small schools right across the year levels from Kindergarten to Year 7 and in many of the suburbs here in Adelaide, our capital city. An amazing experience!
I have a lovely husband, Grant, and we have been together for just over 42 years since our third year of secondary school. We have one child - our daughter, Ashleigh - who has been wonderful enough to give us 3 beautiful grandchildren - our granddaughter, Mahalia is now 10 1/2 years old; our grandson Toby, who is 5 1/2 and our baby grandson Eli turned 4 in July.
We see them a lot because they live only a few minutes away from us and we love being grandparents so much.
I hope that you enjoy PostCrossing as much as I do. It is very exciting to find postcards in the letterbox just for me! I often wonder if the postman likes to see the cards arriving too!
I like various needlecrafts - knitting, quilting and cross-stitch - and even though I am so busy I find the time to do them. It's an important part of my own wellness and builds friendships with other adults. So every Wednesday evening, and then again on a Friday evening twice a month, I go to my Needlework group for a UFO evening where I work on a whole range of Un-Finished Objects - and believe me when I say that I have lots of them! Other Postcrossers who also enjoy Needlework will certainly know what I mean!
I am interested in all types of postcards from funny to landscapes to animals and everything in between! I am happy to receive ad cards and homemade cards. I value the time, effort and skill that many people all over the world put into handmade cards. At the moment I am collecting cards featuring OWLS as they are my favourite bird but any postcard arriving is a big thrill for me.
Thank you very much from,
Your Australian PostCrossing friend
Cheryl
