About Tobias...

I am currently studying Cultural Sciences and Archaeology and working at a small arthouse cinema. I'm quite fond of photography as well.

I've excavated for two seasons at the Ness of Brodgar, Orkney. I love to travel, especially to islands! Not only Orkney but also places such as La Gomera/Tenerife and the Faroes. I've lived in Copenhagen, Prague, Newcastle and Ghent.

I'd really love to get postcards scribbled full, telling me something about you/your country/some random thing! You can also do it in your own language if it uses the latin alphabet (hello google translate!). What I also like:

-Vintage cards, especially photochrom. If you have a second-hand shop nearby they probably have some beautiful and cheap vintage cards. They've been waiting for decades to be sent!
-Islands (especially Orkney, Faroes, Canaries, Falklands, Iceland, Spitsbergen, Açores, St. Helena)
-Sweden, Iceland, Norway or Poland
-Your surroundings
-Folklore/local tales
-Food!
-Vintage cards and designs
-People wearing fabulous jumpers/cardigans
-Historic sites/buildings
-Abandoned buildings, post-apocalyptic landscapes
-People collecting mushrooms and riding on foxes (like RU-1050499, which I do not yet have myself!)

You can also look at my favourite cards here on Postcrossing to see what I like ;) If you're very creative: I don't mind to receive home-made cards! I received some beautiful hand-drawn cards and it amazes me that someone would put so much time and effort into sending me a card. It is much appreciated!

Another thing I like: envelopes filled with treasure! I've had a few over the years, filled with little things that show a little bit of life in different countries. From Polish candy wrappers and Russians coins to Spanish bus tickets and Portuguese school passes, I appreciate the gesture! ;)
