About Ayşegül...
Hello all,
I am from Turkey! My name is Ayşegül - a bit hard to pronounce. Ayşe is a typical Turkish name (Aisha) and gül means both "rose" and "to smell" in Turkish. So please do not hesitate to call me Aisha, if more convenient.
I was born in Edirne, a small city - a neighbor of both Greece and Bulgaria. However, I moved to Istanbul when I was 13 for a better education. I am currently living in Istanbul, which I firmly believe that one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Having tried being a corporate lawyer for two years, last year I quit and returned to academia. I am currently working as a research assistant on administrative law.
I registered to postcrossing upon a suggestion of a friend and really loved the idea. As a romantic and sensitive person (yes, sometimes drama queen) I really enjoy getting postcards from my friends and family and believe that getting postcards from people around the world is very enjoyable.
I really like writing short stories and poems, which I try to publish on my medium blog. I also enjoy reading and listening to music. And drinking coffee comes along with writing and reading I guess:D
I would like if you sent me postcards regarding feminism or women rights. I would be really happy if you write your favorite book quotes or poems on the postcards. If you are not a quote person, then just write anything you want me to know.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best,
