Hello everyone, my name is Katie and I’m from Russia. I’m 20 years old. I have been living in Germany for 2 years and a half. When I was 17 I wanted to change something in my life, I wanted to be an independent person. My aunt lives here and I decided to try to start a new live in a new country. I discussed that with my parents. In some weeks I found a job in Germany, and in few months bought a one-way ticket. Also I went to Moscow University. I thought that I had to have something here, if something went wrong in Germany and I would have to leave this idea and return to Moscow. It was very hard for me, but I was sure that I did something that has to change everything in my life. These thoughts gave me a power to leave all my friends, parents and younger brother and sister.

First time it was very hard for me. I didn’t know German at all, I didn’t have friends here. Sometimes I met my aunt and her children, but it wasn’t enough for me. It was only me and my job. Be the way, I worked as a nanny for a child, and I lived in that house. That family was very nice.
Gradually time passed and I made friends in this country. I stared to learn a language and it helped me feel more self-confident. My friends from Moscow also supported me. Now we communicate almost every day via the Internet.
In a year I became a volunteer in the medicine clinic. I like help people and be needed for them. I liked work there. It’s a big experience for me.
During all my life I wanted to help people who really need it. That’s why I want to be a nurse. I want to be a friend for the time of illness, I know people need support when they feel bad. I want to give them this support.
I want to tell you what I like. So, most of all I like travelling. I want to visit all countries in the world to see the style of life and cultures of different people. I’m very interested in it. I also fall in love with nature, especially I love mountains.

They’re so huge, inconceivable, and spellbinding. I really want to visit Everest. It’s one of my dream. Oh, I almost forgot. I love aircraft. Isn’t it great? I love flying. I wish people can fly in reality, not only in their dream.

I think it’s already enough. To tell the truth I have problems with English, and I want to have some practice like writing with you.
