About Amy...
I am a PhD student at the university of Toronto. I love books, knitting, traveling, and BBC dramas. I'm excited to hear from people all over the world -- I welcome travel recommendations, too! Tell me what you love about where you live.
I really enjoy traveling, and hope to visit every place from which I get a post card one day! Perhaps it's too big of a dream, but one can hope! I'm from Western Canada (Alberta and BC), and I've traveled a fair bit in the United States (Washington, Montana, California, Florida, Alaska, Hawaii). In 2011, I visited France, Switzerland, Monaco, and Italy, and in 2012 I studied abroad in Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. I spent last summer in the UK visiting lots of places in England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. I also love exploring my own country: In 2013 I drove from Victoria, BC, to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories -- 7000km and a lot of adventure! I look forward to all of the travels yet to come.
I will be happy to receive any postcard you send me, but if you are looking for ideas, some of my favourite cards to receive are:
- pictures of animals, especially cats
- art, especially impressionist paintings
- local architecture or famous buildings
- bookshops
- panorama views and/or cityscapes
- nature near wherever you live
- anything full of colour: flowers, foods, etc.
I'll also be very excited if you can attach something small from your home to your postcard: an old train ticket, a sticker, a stamp, or anything else you can think of.
Arabic cards will be written and read by my friend Celia -- we're excited to hear from you.
