My name is Anu. I'm in Postcrossing because I like postcards. I am not serious collector. I pick postcars from my travel, from museum visits, and from my everyday routes.
As to work, I'm software developer, developing custom solutions to customers' financial software. It's really interesting area to be involved on. To be aware of essence of different businesses and solve arising problems having all the programmers tools.
I'm married and have 2 grown up daughters.
My hobbies: reading - beside good fiction books I like reading about history, ancient history, archaeology, art history. I am also interested in genealogy research.
I do Yoga practices and meditation. I have taken part of folk dance group and Bailatino training.
I was postcrosser over 3 years and had a break few years. Now, I started again due to COVID to find contact with the World. It's joy to receive the postcard or have answer for received postcard! I really don't know what is better :)
If You ask, what to send me:
I like to find stories behind the postcards. And postcards connected to certain geographical point, always has. Thus I do like to receive tourist postcards, anything one can pick in tourist sites.
I don't like postcards from (online) postcard sets, that has not any connection with You and any certain place in the world. It seems pointless to send them around the world.
If You have a choice, then single view card is prettier in my mind than collage of little pictures.
Old Castles, modern houses, City views, street level views, neat tiny details, interiors - all kind, everywhere
is my element: Beaches, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, fountains..
mountains, gardens, parks, open fields, aerial views
every kind of museum items
--specials from You
something that talks of you, your favorites
--I try to hold on special themes. There have been nice and sometimes surprising selections made under certain theme. :)
CURRENT theme: Bridges - majestic witnesses of engineering skills. Bridges on rivers, across the sea, railway bridges - whatever seems like a brige.
- Street view
Thank you and Happy postcrossing!
