About Jessi...

Hello to the Postcrossing world.....

My name is Jessi and I'am originally from Dublin, Ireland but I moved to County Kerry in the South West of Ireland in 2005 to get away from the stressful city life where you work to live instead of the other way around.I live with my partner and our dog Harold, he is a Terror-Pom... sorry I said that out loud...LOL he is an over affectionate hyper little red fox looking Pom/Terrier cross... And our new little girl, Tessa, a mini Jack Russell Terrier... She's super fast and I used to wonder where the term ankle biter came from... I have my answer, whenever Harold will not play with her she bites on his ankles provoking him....

The village I live in is very small in fact a crossroads with 5 public houses, two shops, post office, and a church. It has a large area surrounding the village, in which most people live. It is mostly a farming community and we are surrounded by fields and cows... To the north of me is the Kerry headland facing the Shannon Estuary, in Kerry we have some of the best scenery in Ireland.

Although I only work part time, I am heavily involved in running two charitable organisations.

Atlantic Creations(see Facebook) is a local craft shop assisting those small time producers to sell and promote their crafts, these range from stay at home mom's, to the full time worker with a creative outlet...All money received goes back to the crafter, we work the shop in shifts and commission goes to pay the electric and rent...

The other is The Listowel Military Tattoo, it a family friendly weekend event that incorporates education and history remembrance. we aim to honour anyone who have giving all in the line of duty no matter when. we have memorials, marching bands, living history's, defence forces day and much much more

My main interests are

history including:
local architecture especially old buildings that have character... Castles, forts, bridges, mills or even homes.I love Roman, Celtic, Viking, Norman, Egyptology era history. I like the industrial age, things just got bigger...

I love animals especially anything to horses (Shires, Clydesdale's), carriages related.

Dogs and cats and cows too...

Trains especially steam, or any steam related machinery..

And who doesn't like Disney and Pixar movies...

I love cooking so recipe cards from local places are always welcome.

I also love scenery as it would be my way to tempt me to travel, at present I only get to Europe, but in my younger days I have been to Spain, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Brittany and Egypt

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and any card you send me will be greatly accepted xxxx
